Characteristics:
Dry and elegant red wine, made of 100% old vine Pinotage sourced from 2 vineyards planted on granite soils in Helderberg and on shale in Bottelary Hills. 12 months on neutral French oak, which gives subtle wood spice notes. A bouquet of red fruit, fynbos and floral notes, with darker fruits, olive and cranberry following on palate. Fine grained tannins and dry mineral finish.
Food pairing:
Red meat or spicy Asian style dishes especially when served young. Excellent with lamb when matured. Vegetarian aficionados can serve it with grilled aubergines or portobello mushrooms.
