Established in 1702 as a farm providing fresh produce to the East Indian ships on their way to the spice islands.
It is located in Durbanville Wine Valley region, with vineyards on the south facing slopes of Kanonkop to the north facing Tygerberg Hills. Deep soils with good water retention allow dryland farming. Cooling sea breezes, night-time mists and close proximity to the ocean are all beneficial factors when it comes to the quality of the grapes.
