Characteristics:
Rhôneblend from organic Paarl grapes, fermented with minimal handling in historical Georgian clay vessels. The Qvervi vessels allow the wine to breathe as it ferments producing an elegant wine with dense purity of fruit and crisp minerality in the wine. Aged for 1 year in the Qvevri. Fine tannins, bright natural acidity, abundance of fruit and an intriguing earthiness. 52% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 18% Mourvèdre. Will develop complex secondary characteristics over time.

About the winery:
Avondale is situated at the foot of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains in the picturesque Paarl Valley. Owner Johnathan Grieve is pioneering the way forward to sustainable viticulture. The grapes are biodynamically grown and the wines are all organically certified.  'Terra est vita' is their ethos. The result are naturally delicious wines!
