Characteristics:
Intense dark red. Elegant, succulent, robust dry wine, with an explosion of plum, blackcurrant and cherry. Well-structured and long-lasting finish with firm but supple tannins. Deliciously matured Bordeauxstyle from Stellenbosch (45% Cab Sauv, 24% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 9% Cab Franc and 8% Malbec). Strict VEGAN guidelines were adhered to during the entire farming and winemaking process. Can be cellared for another decade!

Food pairing:
Combine with baked or grilled red meat: beef, lamb or venison. When choosing vegan, go for lentils, beans, risottos combined with aubergines or mushrooms.

About the winery:
The story about this historic estate dates 300 years back to 1692 when Willem Barend Lubbe settled on the flanks of the Bottelary hills. The property counts 273 hectares of which 163 are planted with vines. The vineyards enjoy the Atlantic sea breeze that brings refreshment every afternoon. The beautiful driveway and the towering fountain make the vineyard one of the most recognizable of the Cape. Neethlingshof aims high in protecting the biodiversity on the estate: a Caracal is a wild red cat that 'moved' back to the estate, and is part of the balanced farm ecosystem.
