Characteristics:
Dry Sauvignon Blanc with typical lemon and grapefruit on nose and palate, balanced beautifully by ripe, juicy nectarine notes. Succulent and fresh, with a dry flinty nuance as a counterpoint. The wine is structured with good fruit fleshiness and a long dry finish.

Food Pairing:
As a fresh aperitif. With a salad with avocado or a Greek salad with feta and olives. Or with artichokes. Can be served with grilled fish, especially oily fish such as sardines and mackerel or with big garlicky prawns. Pairs well with fried fish like goujons and fish and chips. Serve with simply grilled chicken or lamb.

About the winery:
Protea wines are handcrafted at L’Ormarins Wine Estate in Franschhoek. History goes back to 1694 when Huguenot Jean Roi planted 4000 vines beneath the jagged peaks of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains. The range is named after the Protea flower which is so distinctive of the rich Cape Floristic region. The wines are fresh and clean, have an appealing style and are packed in an innovative and re-usable bottle.
