Characteristics:
Dark ruby colour. Juicy aromas of blueberry & mulberry are met with spicy notes of white pepper and white truffle. The nose is rich and meaty with subtle notes of smoked Parma ham. The palate is fruit forward with lingering spice complementing the elegant textured finish. About the winery:
Hazendal was recently beautifully restored. With attention to wine, good food, an extensive tea experience and "Wonderdal", an interactive playroom for the kids. Hazendal is located in Bottelary Hills in Stellenbosch, premium region for, among others, Pinotage. Bottelarij Hills has different slopes, undergoes the cool influences of False Bay in the south and the Atlantic Ocean in the west: an ideal recipe for a range of microclimates. Height of the vineyards vary between 150 m and 400 m. Lady Winemaker is Clarisse Sciocatti-Langeveldt. The ‘Christoffel Hazenwinkel’ range is named after the first owner of the estate.
