Characteristics:
Flagship Bordeaux blend from Stellenbosch, premium Cabernet region in South Africa. Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Limited production of 4000 bottles. 2017 was a smaller but exceptional harvest in Stellenbosch. Aromas and flavours of dark red fruit, cigar box and integrated wood spices. Elegant but full bodied.

Baked or grilled red meat or ground game, with flavourful sauces.
About the winery:
Alto has a famous and unique terroir, high on the slopes of the Helderberg, with the influence of the cool sea breeze coming from the west. In this environment, the grapes can ripen slowly, which gives beautiful aromas and nicely developed tastes. Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz feel unbelievably well in this region. The "Alto Rouge" has been an institutional wine since nearly five decades.
